Mark Stoneman has left Surrey to sign a three-year deal with Middlesex cricket. The 34-year-old will be available to play immediately for Middlesex, having joined the side on loan for their four remaining County Championship games of the 2021 season, the club announced on Wednesday (August 18).
Stoneman, who started his career at Durham, went on to represent Surrey for five years. He finished his Surrey stint with a century against Durham in the Royal London One Day Cup semifinal game on Tuesday, although The Oval-based team finished on the losing side.
Stoneman joins Middlesex with an experience of 204 first-class games in which he scored close to 12,000 runs at an average of 33.98, with 24 hundreds to boot. He has also scored over 3000 runs in List A cricket at 39.13 with seven centuries while he has 1342 runs in 77 T20s.
