Root, Crawley extend lead with hundred plus stand

Zak Crawley and Joe Root continued to pile on the runs, with England ending the afternoon session of Day 4 of their opening Test versus the West Indies at 146/1, ahead by 122.

After just few overs were bowled during the second session, play was stopped due to a rain shower. However, it turned out to be a passing shower as play resumed at 13:35 local. After resumption, Crawley reached his sixth Test fifty with a nudge around the corner off Kemar Roach.

Crawley then showcased his flair with a neatly played on drive off Roach. Root too began to open up his shoulders by bringing out a glance off Jason Holder that rocketed to the fine leg fence. The England skipper also showed finesse by employing the late cut against Veerasammy Permaul to complete a fifty.
