Mushfiqur Rahim expects Bangladesh to carry forward their T20 momentum from recent series wins to hold them in good stead in the showpiece event in UAE and Oman, starting October 17. Bangladesh start in the first round, and need to progress as one of the top two sides to make it to the Super 12s.

“Since we have won the last three series – two at home and one away, it gave us a huge boost ahead of the World Cup. It is not easy to do well in T20 consistently. That’s why I am eagerly waiting for such an exciting tournament,” Mushfiqur said at an event on Friday.

“No matter how many times we played in the T20 World Cup, it is a great opportunity for us to have a very good consistent performance in the T20,” he added.
